Microbor Nanotech Co. is the developer and manufacturer of a new generation of composite Cubic Boron Nitride (CBN) and composite Nano Cubic Boron Nitride (NCBN). Microbor Nanotech Co. is the first producer in the world to introduce commercial tools made of NCBN. This material surpasses synthetic diamond in strength without compromising temperature or wear resistance. The unique combination of material properties allows Microbor tools to significantly increase the productivity of machining operations. Composite CBN and NCBN produced by Microbor Nanotech Co. are used for manufacturing a wide range of tools for metal-working, stone-cutting, and synthetic material machining.
Microbor Nanotech Co. has its own Know-How for each phase of the manufacturing process: from the synthesis of CBN and NCBN powders to the end product.
Since 2004 Microbor Heavy® product line has been in production and first was offered to the Russian market. The product allowed Microbor customers to implement advanced technologies of metal working. This instrument has unique performance and impact resistance characteristics of roughing of hard and super hard materials.
In 2005 Microbor started shipments to overseas markets.
In 2008 the company developed Microbor Classic® – tipped and full-faced inserts enabling our customers to achieve new levels of productivity. Having developed a large customer base in China we opened our representative office in Shanghai in 2009. The office provides engineering services, technical support to our customers and marketing support to our trading partners.
In 2009 Microbor introduces a unique material based on the use of NCBN (nano CBN) composite with hardness exceeding that of synthetic diamond, setting a benchmark for innovative high performance tools. New range of Microbor tools for finishing and super-finishing is now being introduced to the market.
Microbor Company sees a bright future for NCBN and CBN - based materials in tools production industry, which is being confirmed by a large-scale investment contract with the Russian Corporation of Nanotechnologies (RUSNANO) to finance the expansion of Microbor production facilities. $24 million state-of-the-art PCBN and NPCBN tool manufacturing plant will produce its first batch in 2011
